The Silver Crescent Foundation draws on more than 30 years of experience in supporting education, engineering and technology development in South Carolina, developing initiatives that form a conduit between the successful businesses of today and the leaders of tomorrow. These initiatives not only support workforce development, but also recognize companies that demonstrate the ability to positively impact employees, local communities and the state while achieving excellence within their industry. The Foundation collaborates with other nonprofit organizations, business leaders, institutions of higher learning and public school systems to help the next generation of young people understand the fundamental connections between engineering innovation, technology vitality and our high standard of living.

The Silver Crescent Foundation is joining forces with the South Carolina Chamber to host a unified recognition event for manufacturing in 2009.

The Salute to Manufacturing celebrates the vitality of manufacturing in South Carolina and encourages leaders in business, education and government to play a role in programs that connect young people to careers in manufacturing, engineering and technology. The program includes the presentation of three Silver Crescent Manufacturer of the Year Awards to outstanding manufacturing companies in South Carolina and promotes initiatives that foster manufacturing’s continued competitiveness and overall success.

The Salute to Manufacturing will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing Technology in Florence, SC.
